When the very first bottles of “Vergina” went on sale in 1998, our mission was to craft one of the finest premium lagers money could buy – anywhere, at any price. Much to our surprise, what started out as a small, committed band of beer lovers’ quest to bring back the lost art of beer-craft to the Thracian heartland soon blossomed into something much greater than we could have ever hoped for: our “Vergina” brand had not only evolved into the catalyst that would revolutionize beer culture in Greece, but also began attracting an ever growing number of devoted fans in the four corners of the globe - from the surf lodges of Australia to New York City’s finest restaurants.
Vergina Premium Beer
“VERGINA” beer is classified as Premium Lager.Its ingredients are Pilsen malt, caramel malt, hop,aromatic Tettnanger hop, yeast and water. It is aproduct of classic fermentation (10C) and it isdistinguished by its fresh, rich taste. The harmoniccoexistence of malt and hop defines its aroma. It issold in bottles of 330 ml & 500 ml and cans of 330ml &500 ml, as well as in kegs of 30 L & 50 L.
Vergina Red
“VERGINA RED” beer is classified as SpecialBeer. Its ingredients are Pilsen malt, rarecarameled and roasted malts, hop, aromaticTettnanger hop, yeast and water. It is a productof classic fermentation (10C) and it isdistinguished by its full taste, as well as by itsred, “amber” color. Its fruity aroma reminds ofexotic fruits, blackberries and honey. It is soldin bottles of 330 ml and 500 ml, as well as in kegs of 30 L.
Vergina Weiss
“VERGINA WEISS” is a wheat, foamybeer with a hazy appearance, which comes froma special top fermenting yeast. Its ingredients arewheat malt, barley malt, special caramel wheatmalts, aromatic Tettnanger hop, top fermentingyeast and water. The special top fermentingyeast which “VERGINA WEISS” is made from,gives a rich, fruity aroma that reminds of cloveand banana.
Macedonia Thrace Brewery has invested tens of millions of Euros to date in establishing and continuously updating one of Europe’s most technologically advanced brewing and bottling facilities in the foothills of the Rhodope Mountains, that consistently meets and exceeds the most stringent international quality assurance standards (ISO 22000, TUV Hellas, etc).
